The story took a jarring shift at the end of Chapter 9 for me.Turns out Carver has his own special idle animation where he stands up completely straight. The necros kept trying to slice up Isaac while Carver only lost about 33% HP. Turns out, all I needed to do was have Carver trigger the insanity teleport and place Isaac back-to-back with Carver. After reading up on what the third mission would be like, I was unsure if my strategy would still work because I made a rule to only make Isaac invincible.I especially loved it when the game automatically pulls Isaac ahead for cutscenes. I started to love open areas because I didn't need to lug Isaac around a lot.It was cool to see Carver-vision and real-vision side by side when I was in the co-op missions. It was absolutely hilarious to see Isaac struggle with an Enhanced Waster for 2 solid minutes while I calmly looted the room. This let me load up AHK to hold E for 10 seconds while I switch over and press E as Carver. Fortunately, VMWare has the ability to release my mouse so I can act on my main machine while my VM still thinks I have focus on the Dead Space 3 window. I almost gave up in the prologue when I had to hit those two buttons to get into the shuttle bridge. My VM hosted the game so my main computer can enjoy good performance as Carver. I played most of the game in this sort of co-op mode, with the exception of the boss chapters and flight segments. I just hit Chapter 17, so I should be done soon. It took 5 years, but I finally had enough technical knowledge to pull off playing the co-op missions (and most of the game, too) as Carver with Isaac mostly idling on my VM with an invincibility cheat. Considering the hype I remember when I played this game at launch, I was expecting something more.
